We stopped by today to see what progress was made yesterday. We actually ended up driving by 3 times yesterday, but the crew was there every time we passed, as late as 8PM. They were sketching out the first floor plan onto the foundation, and they built the frame for half of the back wall. Take a look! When we stopped by yesterday there were two new piles of wood, and two guys in a pickup, so we didn't take any pictures. We drove by again today, and it's looking like they're already beginning to frame out the walls. There was a crew there this afternoon, so again, no pictures, but we'll drive by again later tonight or tomorrow. Sunday seems to be a day of rest :) We also bought a proper level, so we'll let you know the verdict on the foundation, and we'll also double check the width of the 3rd garage bay.
Who knows, there may even be beginnings of walls the next time you see pictures! Today they spent the day grading around most of the foundation. Most or all of the framing materials were also delivered to the lot, it's kind of funny to see it all lying around stacked up all neatly. With the grading, the foundation looks more level, but we're still going to get a real level. Plus we never heard back about the garage door width, so still wondering about that. So we got to walk on the foundation today!! The pictures aren't overwhelming, although we have some angles that we couldn't get before. We also measured some things, including the door for the 3rd garage bay - which we think is the wrong width. The standard door is 8' wide, but we upgraded to a 9', so we're emailing the builder about it tonight. They took down all the framing already, and generally tidied up the lot, most of the old wood is gone and what's left is in neat little piles around the lot. See for yourself! I promise you guys are not going to recognize the lot :D Super quick update and one pic to let you know they've started the second pour. Expect a lot more tonight :) I just lost the entire excited blog post I just wrote, so all you get is pictures :P (Side bar - I'm always going to save the post before uploading pics from now on.) We had lots of inspections today (plumbing, second structural, and second independent inspections), and they hope to do the second pour tomorrow. |
