We only took one picture tonight, of the front of the house. It's kind of funny, but it looks almost exactly like the "preview" picture I had put together at the beginning (see previous posts). They did do work on the inside and back of the outside, but it was all fine details, so the pictures wouldn't have been much different from yesterday. We also took a lot of measurements, we're wanting to start getting going on the fence, here's what we're thinking: we're going to do just the backyard (behind the house only) with a metal semi-privacy fence, and then do the pool separately, either cutting the backyard in half, or just around the pool itself, with a metal, typical pool fence (no privacy, but security and safety). I'll start posting pics when we have more.

There's paint on the outside, both the actual exterior paint and even some of the trim color. On the inside, they continued to finish out the drywall, and they're doing some work on the master shower. I wonder if that's where the leak (if there even really was one) was? They put in all the "rounded corners" (or most of them) today. The rest of the front stucco was also finished. Plus, they added the (up to now) missing arch in the kitchen. Enjoy! All stucco and drywall is up! Now the arduous process of "finishing" is going on. So the house is almost all covered up, on the outside and on the inside. The stucco is finished except for the very back wall; and the drywall downstairs was being finished while we were there. I'm expecting all that to be done as early as tomorrow, and then most of the work will focus on the septic (I think). Here's what happened on Friday. We passed today, and while we were there some guy came by and started cleaning up the wood scraps from the yard. Hopefully that's the real reason he was there, and we didn't just drive away and leave him to help himself to all our materials. We wrote down his car number, just in case. Things are underway on getting the stucco up. We tried to check off some more stuff from the various checklists, but some things are just progressing too quickly for us to know. Here are the pics from yesterday though. Lots of goings on went on today. When we walked into the house, it felt like a different place (even just since lunch time). A lot of the insulation in the walls is in, and it's almost ready for sheet rock! I took a night off yesterday, but we were at the house today at lunchtime and no one was working - so I think I have a good sense of what happened yesterday (although no pictures -- sorry).Looks like all the 220V lines are in, which means our transformer is going to be placed on one of the poles close to the back, right corner of the house (yaay!) We also have to double-check on the lines they used for the pool stub out, but right now it's #6-3 (engineers - can that handle more or less pumps/filters/etc than #8?)
Also, some of the insulation is in, and so far it's all correct (R19 in the exterior walls, R13 interior, none in the ceiling yet, but that will be blown R30). Finally, ALL of the sheet rock has been delivered! It's in stacks all over the house! So tonight we'll have to check the fixes from the engineer & inspector's checklists, since the walls are going to be closed in very soon. We're also expecting septic and stucco to begin ASAP. Finally, we got the pool location signed off on, and should be doing the second pool site visit late next week. Not much today, just some follow up on inspection/framing stuff, and some minor corrections from the low voltage folks. |
