They finished all the trim for the wood floors last night (both the borders with the tile and the trim against the baseboard).

Carpet, flooring trim, mirrors, shower enclosures. The house was quite busy today! We also got mail for the first time!! Plus, we're buying utility room appliances this weekend, and probably the fridge next weekend. They're not going to be delivered until the 29th though - we want to be sure we've closed before they come in. They replaced the glass above the J&J tub today. And finished the floors. They also came back in to switch out the tiles in the secondary bathrooms, and only got one bathroom right. *Sigh*. Take a look: They installed the (right) floors in all the other rooms today. They're scraping the adhesive and wood remnants from the three rooms they had finished earlier, those should be done tomorrow. The window frame folks also did some minor repairs today, and the HVAC folks were in the attic testing the AC when we were there. The Good News: We're going to be getting the floors we paid for. The Bad News: We're going to be getting the floors we paid for. Good news: they finished the floors in 3 of the rooms today (study, dining, master bedroom).
Bad news: they used the wrong width floorboards (these are 3", supposed to be 5"). We installed the mailbox today. Looks pretty cool!
Final grade was done today (except around the pool). The yard looks awesome now. They also sprayed plaster on the exposed bits of foundation, and patched up the dings in the walls (inside and out). They cleaned the granite too. It was awesome to drive up to the house today! So much happened today! So we had to go to the house this morning, because they were ready to do all the concrete flatwork - and the mailbox pad. There's a template that came with the mailbox to make sure the screws are in the right place. Turns out that template was IN the mailbox - and I had the keys...at home. Fuz was already there to water the pool shell, and was on his way back home when he called and figured out I was still home and could easily just bring the keys, which I did. Our supervisor was there too! So we had an impromptu meeting about all the odds and ends that happened the two days we were locked out. The supervisor had to come by this morning to break into the house, since someone locked the wrong lock yesterday. Anyways, the electrical trim is all complete, as was (supposed to be) the tile work (see pictures). Next, the cabinet folks are coming by to finish up, then they're going to clean the whole house. Finally, paint - and next Monday/Tuesday we get carpet and hardwood! The plumbing inspection was today - and they're still waiting on the wet bar faucet, which was back ordered. No luck on the kitchen/utility faucet upgrades we wanted, so we'll just have to change those out ourselves sometime. As if that wasn't enough, we've locked in a mortgage rate, decided on insurance, and are about to buy some cool front door accessories for the entryway. SOOOO close....I can't believe it's almost done! |
