My nephew got to see the house for the first time on Friday afternoon (he was really excited to see the new house Uncle Fuz and I had been "making" for so long - he's an avid follower of this blog.) What a hoot! He didn't mind us telling him that the understair closet was his room, "Come into my elevator room!" and he thought the dining room & view were "so BEAUTIFUL!" He also didn't mind swimming in the pool with absolutely no water in it. We had lots of fun. As usual, we didn't see anyone there yesterday, but here are all the pics!

I've been away for a few days - which they spent touching up and finishing off. These pics are from my phone, so I apologize for the quality. The first 4 are from last night, the last two were this afternoon. Some folks worked today, although they were gone by the time we got there at 1. They finished all the trim for the wood floors last night (both the borders with the tile and the trim against the baseboard). Carpet, flooring trim, mirrors, shower enclosures. The house was quite busy today! We also got mail for the first time!! Plus, we're buying utility room appliances this weekend, and probably the fridge next weekend. They're not going to be delivered until the 29th though - we want to be sure we've closed before they come in. They replaced the glass above the J&J tub today. And finished the floors. They also came back in to switch out the tiles in the secondary bathrooms, and only got one bathroom right. *Sigh*. Take a look: They installed the (right) floors in all the other rooms today. They're scraping the adhesive and wood remnants from the three rooms they had finished earlier, those should be done tomorrow. The window frame folks also did some minor repairs today, and the HVAC folks were in the attic testing the AC when we were there. The Good News: We're going to be getting the floors we paid for. The Bad News: We're going to be getting the floors we paid for. |
