Day 10 - Working on Saturday?!?

We stopped by yesterday, because when we were there on Friday the crew was there, and we wanted to really check out the work that had been done since Wednesday. Imagine our surprise when we realized they were working on Saturday afternoon! So we just did a drive by, and went back later in the evening. They had finished for the day, so I got a lot of pictures. We also met another neighbor who's in the process of moving, she was really interesting, said she worked with some MIT folks for a while, on the Apollo missions! Apparently, the team she was on was in charge of trajectories. Totally cool!

They're lining the foundation with waterproofing now, several layers worth. We're going to try to be vigilant for holes, and to make sure the overlaps are sealed - as you'll see, no job is too big for duct tape!

They also brought in the temporary electricity pole/meter, and the backhoe and bobcat are still living on the lot. I think I want to seed the empty part of the lot with wildflowers (maybe this fall). We have a few in the area right now, so I took a couple shots of them, but I need to learn how to use the macro feature on our camera, so I apologize in advance for the blurriness.

Ok, a strange question, the plastic liner is nailed to the form, right? So that means after the concrete is poured and hardened and everything, they are going to remove the form right? so that making me wonder if you will see the plastic liner on the outside of the foundation or there is something I dont know?

I think they're going to trim the excess after they pour it. Either that, or they're going to fold it over the poured part of the concrete, but under the "cap" part of the foundation. I don't know anything about this "two pour" foundation, so we'll see.
