The Survey!!

That's what they've been waiting on! I can't believe I didn't think of that, I kept asking if it was the structural engineer - I totally forgot they needed to survey the placement of the slab before they poured all that concrete!

Fuz went out today after work, since the last two trips had been a bust, so the pics are courtesy him tonight. It appears they did come out and survey, plus it looks like the water utility came out and marked the water line today.

Fuz first noticed the spray painted blue lines as he drove up.

On closer inspection, he realized it's the water line that runs along the street boundary of the property.

The builder emailed this morning to say they were waiting on the survey, to be sure the placement of the foundation isn't encroaching on any easements/reserves before they pour it and it becomes impossible to move. We think the survey was done today due to the addition of the pink flags to the wooden posts (these are from when they measured the lot to set the foundation forms, the black posts ones we installed near the original survey pins).

So, what is the outcome of the survey? Sometimes I feel like the project manager/ construction manager should give you all a checklist of what they have to do before they move on to the next step. So this way you can say "Yes it did happened" or "What the France happened there?"

He did tell us, to be fair, we just forgot. There's a HUGE binder with exactly such a list, but we've had it for a while, and went through all of it so long ago that we don't remember all the little details. Maybe that should be our task this weekend :)

On the other hand, I don't think they've gotten the survey report back yet.
