As we drove up to the lot today, we saw a...new...pile of...dirt! Actually, I think it's the backfill material for the cap of the foundation. But they did pour the beams today, and we could see the steel rebar sticking up out of it.
We also got to talk to a neighbor that we had met way back when we were buying the lot. He was very interested in the construction, since he's just about finished building a beautiful home "next" to ours (it's across the side street). He and his wife were their own builder(!) so I'm guessing their process was a lot more involved than ours. He said the foundation should be our focus (which it is), and after hearing about it, he thought ours would stand up well. Apparently there have been problems.
We also managed to set up our granite selection appointment today, and we expect the pool guys to come out next week, so everything's moving along according to schedule.
So without further ado, on to the pictures.
